He's hoping to throw sometime in August and has targeted a return in September. Analysis: "It's feeling much better," said Corpas, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday. While inside the elbow, the doctor checked for ligament damage and found nothing. That possibility had Corpas on edge more than the bone spur. |

Analysis: The 26-year-old Corpas went on the disabled list June 20 with bone spurs in his right elbow. He's third on Colorado's pitching staff in appearances this season despite missing 22 games since the injury. Corpas is 1-3 with one save and a 5.40 ERA in 33 games for the Rockies this season. |

Analysis: Manager Jim Tracy said Friday that Corpas saw team orthopedist Thomas Noonan, and the team was awaiting the results of medical tests he ordered. Corpas, who threw a scoreless eighth inning in each of his last two games, leads the team with 33 appearances. Until he returns, the Rockies will use left-hander Alan Embree or right-hander Matt Daley to set up closer Huston Street. |
